Here are a few things to remember when dealing with temptation:
From James1 beginning with verse 13--
"Let no one say when he is tempted, ' I am tempted by God'; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone. 14 But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. 15 Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death."
Sobering words there but don't forget, God is not the one bringing forth temptation.
Now for some encouragement from 1Corinthians10:12--
"13 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it."
Now that is good news! God will never allow us to be tempted beyond what we can deal with. The question then becomes, do we allow ourselves to succumb to sin?
And in closing, this promise from God. We read in James1, verse 12:
"12 Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him."
What a Promise! What a God! Praise the Lord!
