Do you know that God can speak to you? I am not referring to an audible voice here, I am talking about His Word, the Bible.
But, to have this experience you must read His Word. What follows is a prayer you can say before reading Scripture. It will help you to focus and absorb what you are about to read.

"Blessed Lord, who hast caused all holy Scriptures to be written for our learning: Grant that we may in such wise hear them, read, mark, learn, and inwardly digest them, that by patience and comfort of thy holy Word, we may embrace and ever hold fast, the blessed hope of everlasting life, which thou hast given us in our Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen."
(from The Book of Common Prayer,1928 Edition).
For those who have not read the Bible in some time, begin again and avail yourselves of the comfort, wisdom and insights to be gained if you will only take the time to read.
It is written in 1Timothy 4:
"Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith."
You say your faith has "waxed cold"? That you no longer have faith? Then read!
A nice place to begin is with the Gospels(Matthew,Mark, Luke and John) or The Epistle of James
